Pogroms of 1938 in 2021 !? Can it be? The State of Israel is not the British Mandate – correct?

My body is still shaking from the screaming Arab marauders thirsty for Jewish blood. I truly thought we had seen the end of the pogroms, but within minutes they came on masse, smashed windows and started a fire in our home and the nearby Synagogue.I managed to escape at the last second with my crying baby. My husband was trying to save the Sefer Torah, but with no success. No police in sight and none interested in stopping these sick hate-filled Arabs. We were removed from the area to “safety!”

For you the reader – this could easily be the words of a Jewish lady and mother under attack from Arabs in Lod, Ramle, or anywhere else in Israel or Judea and Samaria. BUT – NO. This is from August 1938 during the Arab riots and pogroms in the Shiloach (Silwan)- the Yemenite Village. There was NO state of Israel. There was NO sovereign Jewish body . There was NO Israeli Police.

There were only the weak British authorities who were incompetent and unwilling to protect the Jewish residents and couldn’t stop, control, or punish the Arab rioters. So the “easiest way to handle Arab rioters” was to simply remove and evict the Jewish residents from the Shiloach. They punished the innocent Jews and rewarded the Arabs. They showed that Arab violence and hatred will win. The Arabs forced the hands of the British and the British backed off. It simply gave the Arabs a thirst for more violence and more Jewish blood.

Fast forward to 1948 and then even more so in 1967, when our brave paratroopers reunited the heart of Jerusalem with her people and the rightful heirs to the city and homeland.

Jewish sovereignty. Jewish State. Jewish army police and security. We wouldn’t be driven away again. We wouldn’t back off and reward the Arab rioters. They would now be punished and not the innocent Jews. We wouldn’t be evicted from our homes. The shtetl, the ghetto were gone. The British were gone and a new proud strong Jew had risen from the dust of Jewsh history and from the ashes of the Holocaust.

Well that was the idea and concept. That was the dream.Until Yom Yerushalayim 2021 (5781), when a shameful Government decision to stop Jews getting to the Old City and Kotel was made, due to Arab violence. It sent shockwaves through the soul of our people. It stabbed the paratroopers of old from 1967 in the back. It crumbled the wall of Jewish sovereignty. It put up the wall dividing east and west Jerusalem with ugly looking trucks.
Damascus gate closed to Jews ONLY. Jaffa Gate closed to Jews ONLY. Access to Old City and Kotel closed off to Jews ONLY.And ALL this before the sirens sounded.

The British behavior was back in the shape and form of a weak temporary Israeli government  which effectively CAPITULATED  and succumbed to Arab pressure, hatred and violence. It will and has given a huge victory to the Arab “enemy” within and around us. It will bring only further Arab violence. This Government punished the Jew and rewarded the Arab, for Arab violence. NO strength. NO strength of conviction. A stain on the Jewish mindset and will not be easily forgotten.

The time has come to send the right message of strength and conviction to the Arab world.Violence will not drive us out of our united Jerusalem. We will continue to purchase homes in every neighbourhood in Jerusalem. We will continue to live in any and every neighborhood in Jerusalem. We will continue to reclaim, repossess and redeem old Jewish properties, whether with money or by the courts, in the Old City in the old Yemenite Village of Shiloach and even in the neighborhood of Shimon HaTzaddik. (Sheich Jarrach).

Scream from the rooftops – Jerusalem belongs solely to this true son of Abraham – the Jewish People!
And a note for our bleeding heart left wing liberal brethren – There is no difference between an Arab from Shiloach-Silwan who throws rocks (which can kill) and molotov cocktails and burns a synagogue or attempts to lynch a Jew and the Israeli Arab from Lod who does exactly the same thing.

May G-d give us the wisdom and strength and real leadership to deal with the heavy issues facing the Jewish people in the Land of Israel.
