Rebuilding Jerusalem Is Our Answer To The Holocaust

For nearly two thousand years the Jewish people dreamed of returning to Jerusalem. Behind every prayer and blessing Jerusalem has stood silent, a magnet pulling our hearts towards it. When the extermination of the Jews of Europe hit a fever pitch, the Jewish people’s dreams never died.

It was the rag tag army of Israel, with so many Holocaust survivors within it that defeated the five invading Arab armies yet barely lost their hold on Jerusalem’s Old City. Then in 1967, Hashem answered the prayers built up over the centuries and the city was finally reunited under Jewish sovereignty for the first time in nearly 2,000 years.

Despite the miraculous victory, there is still so much that needs to be done. There are neighborhoods that Arabs are now squatting in that were once completely Jewish, synagogues that were destroyed that are now being rebuilt, and houses that need to be reclaimed and renovated. Jerusalem may be united, but it cries out for our continued involvement and push to truly redeem it.

Yom HaShoah is more than just a remembrance to the millions of Jews that were wiped out by Hitler, it is the connecting point to drive us to do more in the Land of Israel – especially in Jerusalem. Hamas calls the war they started on October 7th 2023 the Al Aqsa Flood. For them it is all about Jerusalem. These modern day Nazis are not only seeking our demise, they are seeking to take what is most dear to us.

Just like the Jews of Europe yearned to be free in Jerusalem, we must finish the job and defend it from the Nazi Jihadists of our generation. The only way to do that is to help rebuild and renovate all of Jerusalem sith Jewish life. Anything else leaves the job incomplete.
